(from left to right: Jim and Shawn, 2003; Shawn and Jim, Woodburn 2010) AIM Racing began with two men who wanted to take sand drag racing to the extreme. Shawn Blehm and Jim Iverson began their race team with one bike in 2002, which over the years has grown to a team of eight racers. AIM Racing was named after Jim's oldest children and Shawn's daughter(Ashten, Ivy, and Maycee) who were racing when the team was named. Since then two more of Jim's children have begun racing (Eli and Landen). Jim's father Gerry Iverson also joined the team, and the newest addition is Gerry's girlfriend Janell Ediger. Over the years AIM Racing has participated in races at Albany Motorsports, in Albany, Oregon, Barlow Point Raceway in Longview, Washington, the Riddle Sand Drags in Riddle, Oregon, and Dunefest in Winchester Bay, Oregon. In 2009 AIM Racing made the move from sand drag racing to racing asphalt at Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, Oregon. The AIM Racing team boasts upwards of five pit crew members on any given day, all devoted family and friends. | |||||||||||||
